Common questions
A Google search that uses operators to look inside one website. site: limits results to that website, quotation marks keep a phrase together, OR accepts any of several phrases, and a minus sign leaves a phrase out. Pointed at LinkedIn profile pages, it finds public profiles that Google can show.
No. It only builds the query. When you select Open in Google, Google runs the search and shows its own results. The tool does not visit LinkedIn, retrieve profiles, count candidates, or check anything on a profile, and it is not a search inside LinkedIn Recruiter. X-Ray only reaches pages that are publicly accessible and that Google surfaces, and Google may not return every profile it has indexed.
All of these keywords requires every entered term. Any of these keywords requires at least one entered term. When both groups are filled, the query combines both conditions.
Yes. Add each one as its own phrase. Job titles are combined with OR, so a page that mentions any of them can match, and locations work the same way. Add the variants people actually write, such as HCMC and Saigon, because Google matches the words on the page.
No. A company match only means the name appears somewhere on the page, which can be a past employer, a client, or any other mention. In the same way, a job title match does not confirm a current job title, and a location match does not confirm where someone lives now.
Every required keyword and every extra group narrows the search. Try removing a required keyword, adding more job title variants, or removing a company or location. The tool cannot see Google’s results or how many there are, so check the results page and adjust from there.
Yes. An excluded phrase removes any page that mentions it anywhere, including in a past role or a description. Exclude only phrases you are sure about.
Yes. Choose Custom website and enter one domain or URL prefix, such as example.com/team/. It is used only in the site: part of the query. The tool does not visit or check the website.
No. Your criteria stay on this page in your browser. They are not saved on your device, not added to the page address, and not sent to this website. When you open Google, your query goes to Google, as with any search.
No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no API key. The tool builds the query in your browser and opens an ordinary Google search.
